My philosophy revolves around nurturing a fun-loving and interactive atmosphere, where students feel empowered to contribute to the collective symphony of knowledge. As an educator, I aim to instill a lifelong love for learning, encouraging my students to embrace the beauty of art, the excitement of exploration, and the strategic thinking that propels them towards success in their academic endeavors and beyond.

Courses:

Everything Is Media | Twice a year
This course teaches students how to integrate all media –
old and new, offline and online, and what’s coming down the line – into the ideal conduit for an advertising integrated campaign. . Students explore applications of the next technological blockbusters: touchscreen, voice, and face recognition, telepresence and what ever is next?

Interactive Concepting | Twice a year
Students will get a crash course in digital wizardry of ad campaigns. They’ll learn how to create concepts for interactive ad campaigns while learning about the medium on the way to the concept. Students will learn how to come up with interactive ideas, how to pitch those ideas to a client, and how to take the idea into production. The course will cover how to design for immersive experiences, interactive ad campaigns, digital storytelling for brands. While thinking about animations, what makes up a digital campaign, and how to get your campaign into everyone’s inbox.

Head to Head
It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there, so if students want to be the Top Dog, they will create 3 campaigns for supplied briefs and will enter work in all the student work competitions: Cannes, CLIO, D&AD, One Show, or Whatever, and win a nice shiny statue to help.

Get a Job | Twice a year
Students use a variety of media, including online, to promote themselves and their work. They will meet with recruiters, conduct informational interviews, and align with mentors in the industry all practicing for job market. They will also produce a final website and a cohesive website.

Art Institute of Atlanta | 2022-2023

Courses:

Digital Illustration 2
This course advances the student's understanding of the computer as an artistic tool. Building on previous courses in drawing, concept development, and introductory computer-aided design; students will be asked to generate many expressive solutions that address specific illustrative problems, both technical and creative.

Digital Illustration 1 | Twice a year
This course advances the student's understanding of the computer as an artistic tool. Students will learn the basics of digital illustration through Adobe Illustrator and other platforms.

Color Theory
Introduction to the principles of color and exploration of color theory as it relates to media.

Interactive Concepts | Twice a year
An exploration of the synthesis of visual and information design principles. This course will examine the conceptual and practical design of interfaces. Students discuss interface design and user patterns. The components of the interface design process such as sketches, mood boards, wireframes, visual comprehensive, and prototypes are executed.

Business of Graphic Design + Illustration
This course is structured to investigate the wide ranges of both traditional and emerging business topics and considerations, preparing students as they transition into a media and design profession. Concepts of professionalism, expected business needs, an understanding of self-marketing, proposals and project management, and intellectual property and contractual issues will be addressed.
